Woke Up in My Clothes Again This Morning (Email from an old high school buddy: “Hey Alex.”)

Hey, Alex, I’m not sure if you’ll remember me after nearly 40 years, but I wanted to share this story with you.

Music has always been a very important part of my life and I have passed my musical tastes and appreciations on to my adult children. Recently, I was having a conversation with my daughter about some of the more meaningful musical influences in my life and I told her about the transformative experience on hearing the original version of Shadows in the Rain from the Police’s Zenyatta Mondatta album as a 14 year old high school freshman. Then I told her about the kid I hung out with in high school who had introduced me to the Police, as well as the Cars, the Tubes, Devo, and a lot of the other bands that shaped my teens and early twenties.

Less than two weeks later, I randomly stumbled across your podcast on YouTube. I’m happy to see that you are still spreading you love of music to anyone who will listen (literally) and I want to thank you for helping me discover my own passion for music. I wish you continued success and happiness.

Best regards,
