At least that how my brother cynically sums up my taste in cinema.

Machete. The movie delivered everything it promised, and more. I’ve only waited since April 6, 2007 when I saw the faux trailer for it at the opening night for Grindhouse. And when I purchased the Grindhouse coffee table book (that doesn’t turn into a coffee table) I read the entire chapter on how they were going to be making a feature film out of the character that Robert Rodriguez conceived when filming Trejo in Desperado.

From the time I began spending time w/Morgan Russell in June of 2009 we talked many times about seeing the actual movie when it came out.And 15 months later, we did. And to make it even better, my dear Morgana who I’ve infected w/ Robert Rodriguez films this week joined us. in fact, it was the first night she visited me that I brought it up. So that became the plan and that’s what we did indeed do.

I was feeling antsy and cooped up Friday afternoon after a long day of working eBay, so I took a train over to Hipster Park where Morgan does hair at the Robert Jeffery Salon and we would ride into the city together and get tickets in the event it might be sold out. Morgana was to meet me at the River east AMC 21 at 9 for the 920 showing of Machete. But getting to the theater would be more entertaining than usual. Or maybe I should have just foreseen that 2 sag jokesters the likes of Miss Russell and I would naturally make the commute, interesting at best.

We transferred to the Red Line at Jackson and seemed to board the right train. Seated a few seats back on the opposite side was a cracked out crazy, PCP infused nut job who was screaming and laughing very loudly to himself all while looking at us. This freak show was uber animated! And that’s something you just cannot do around people like her and I, especially when we’re a couple of people that are not very capable of suppressing laughter. It wasn’t till we began cracking up, that everyone else on the car seemed that terrified of this skinny caricature of a shorter JJ Walker, who musta escaped from a metal hospital, loosened up. And then suddenly the other riders after watching Morgan and I laughing to tears joined in and began to erupt into laughter themselves. Then Morgan starts texting and I get the following message “Apes On A Train” and it became
unbearable.

Unfortunately the entertainment made a hasty exit at the stop before ours with his pants down around his knees and a trail of stench following in a cloud behind him.

That didn’t mean we weren’t still laughing as we walked toward the lake and the theaters.

After we bought tickets we went into The Lucky Strike for a couple of quick drinks. I had a couple $5 tequila on rocks and Morgan had a problem with each of the beers she wanted to order that were on menu as their Draught beer selection, but the bar no longer served. Now, this is a token case when they should have comped her at least one drink. It’s proper etiquette, but apparently they do not practice that at the Lucky Strike. So she had a martini and a Jack on rocks and me, two $5 tequilas and when she closed the tab it was $38. FUCK THAT!

It was that moment 9 PM on the nose that I saw the lovely Morgana in the lobby calling my cell phone, and I excused myself and as I walked out I ran into John Tolczyk who had just seen Machete and mentioned it was so good that he wanted to go back in and see it again. THAT would have been hilarious. Morgan Russell was going out to have a smoke and following her was John who of course go figure, knows Morgan and I both, but had no idea we knew each other.

a review mentioned: Lindsay Lohan’s breasts, Jessica Alba’s ass and Michelle Rodriguez’s abdominal muscles.

Morgana and I went into Theater 12A and chose some great seats and got ready for the roller coaster ride called Machete. And all I can say is there’s nothing about this movie I didn’t like. In fact I LOVED it. So being that most of my readers obviously know what I like in a movie, I feel there is no need for me to say any more. It was great to see Lindsay Lohan is her full nudity glory doing porn scenes in a pool with her on screen mother which went onto make a Machete Sammich.

We took the red line north and Morgana came with me and both of us very very tired somehow made it through the rest of True Romance which we had started the evening before, prior to our sexual urges taking over. The typical battle where that always superceeds any other given scenario. ALWAYS. And the movie was good, again. This was actually the first time I got to see it all the way through since I bought the damned thing back in 2006.

eXXXhasuted on the Red Line, but not too tired for “True Romance”.

The night was over, she fell asleep on my chest and in my arms as usual. Leonard Cohen sent her to her dreams and we enjoyed a rare night of solid sleep. Still my beautiful and thoughtful companion was wise enough beforehand to set her alarm for earlier so she could “spend some time with me” before heading into work.

And after coffee on the deck in the wonderful 55 degree weather we said our farewells for the time being.

Later this afternoon / early evening she’s bringing her brothers by to eat pizza w/ us that we’re creating and watch Tombstone.

I’m very much enjoying this thing, whatever it is. If anyting it is comfortable. And I like it, I like it a lot.

AHHHH SHUCKS, I seemed to have left out the part about Twizlers during the movie.

Perfect weather today, for me.

Sinigang, seems like I make it in volume every autumn. And as the cool air engulfed my home. and my beautiful lady came bearing homegrown vegetables, the combination of her, me, the recipe at hand and Cheap Trick playing on the office stereo made it all that much more perfect.

I wanted her to hear Mandocello, somehow it kept escaping us.

This was the first time I created this massive amount of the Filipino traditional soup with partner, which in my haus it’s more akin to being a hot chunky salad. At her request I planned to make it without pork, and it is fine.

Distracted by my desire to run my hands over her body and occasionally kissing her perfect mouth and neck, we managed to get the vat boiling. The massive pot was giving birth to our baby. And we were gonna eat our baby.

True Romance was on the box, and Leonard Cohen put us to bed.

Why do I feel like I left something out? I guess you can read those details on her sexypornstarblog.com

Great weekend planned. Machete tonight,. an afternoon w/Morgana and her brothers tomorrow, grilling w/the gents on Sunday and the Beach w/ my baby on Monday. It’s not New Glarus but I know it’s going to be rock n erotic. And I think a wine tasting is gonna fit in there somewhere.

My life has been very un-rock n roll as of late. I spent a weekend going through the MK ULTRA archives and trashing loads of unwanted and unneeded not to mention unusable swag. Boxes and trash bags full of posters wires, modems, old cell phones old cameras, and thousand of photographs. It was while spending 2 days clearing house that I came across some long forgotten treasures.

All the while I was followed room to room by Miss Morgana’s lovable kitty who I was sitting willingly at my request. Morgana who was visiting WI w/ her friend Nicky (sp?) I cannot say didn’t go unmissed. Having spent a good bit of time with her over the last month is almost addictive in a weird sort of way. And that doesn’t go unwarranted. She is a kind, warm, daring, considerate, passionate, energetic and an openly honest individual the likes I haven’t encountered in the longest time.

For instance, yesterday was the perfect example. She arrived at the back door as she does so often now and came bearing gifts. A cactus, my favorite, a token of the southwest which I adore.A 6 pack of New Glarus Spotted Cow, a bottle of New Glarus Belgium Red and a bottle of New Glarus Raspberry Tart. In all seriousness these tokens of kindness get right inside me striking a nerve long dead a lifetime ago. And I thank her.

Her gifts made my burnt offering of 2 framed rare RevCo posters pale in comparison. Gawd I hope this is one of those its the thought that counts matters. (I know you’ll read this at some point there my lovely lil lady, so THANK YOU!)

So upon her entrance to casa diablo I took no calls, put on Desperado, and made her a nice hot bubble bath. Then we rested before finishing the movie, which by all indications, she enjoyed. Okay, a beautiful woman who will watch Robert Rodriguez movies with me. Something is right about this scenario.

In my ultimate wisdom we left around 2 and took the CTA over to Jumbo House Buffet which I’ve praised in the past but just wasn’t as comfortable as I had imagined taking Morgana as far as a place to eat. We should have just cooked together, something I think she wanted to do and I greatly enjoy doing w/ her.

Upon our return we bounced between rooms and the porch as usual and watched Once Upon A Time in Mexico and closed the night with Cheap Tricks Sgt Pepper, at HER request. Now if I didn’t know any better it certainly seems as though I found a tailor made lover in this woman. Somehow we also fit Edie and the Cult into the mix.

I’m seriously considering taking her w me to NG on my next trip there. I have the feeling it would be exhilarating. And light on drama.

Next we make Sinigang then take a walk in the park. Saturday a big pizza is planned and Sunday Greg Drunken, Scott and my friend Will from Phoenix may be here to BBQ w/ me. At least that is the concept.

Time to get back to work. Slainte!

Oh, did I thank you?

Amendment: My friend John P stopped by this afternoon w/another SWAG assignment for me. I told him what a good time I’ve been having w/ Morgana, and he fucking cracked me up when he said she was too old for me before driving away. I laughed myself all the way up the stairs.

At St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Bethel Park, a south suburb of Pittsburgh, Andy Warhol is doing somersaults in his coffin. Okay, that is a bit of a stretch and perhaps I should explain myself.

Last evening I met my good friend Brian Barnicle at Rotofugi Gallery (Rotofugi Designer Toy Store & Gallery) 2780 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago for Playboy Redux Contemporary Artists Interpret the Iconic Playboy Bunny a showcase of paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs from 33 artists celebrates the Playboy Bunny and Playboy Club’s 50th anniversary.

It was advertised that Playmate and Chicago native Christina Santiago hosts the opening reception on Aug. 27 (includes photo ops, music and free appetizers). Well if hosting duties meant standing and talking to one or 2 attendees in the toy store portion of the gallery, then she did a fine job. As far as appetizers I only saw the occasional case of flavored soda brought out of the back room and didn’t see it presented or available anywhere. Now considering this was a reception my friend and I dressed up our attire a bit, that is a given when attending an art gallery reception. Nobody else seemed to consider that. Instead there were swarms of hipsters hanging around the store section, occasionally wandering through the gallery side Something that would have shaken, a very fashion aware Warhol from his tomb.

Why the Warhol reference again you may ask, well allow me to elaborate.

Originally hosted in Pittsburgh at the Andy Warhol Museum (where I once worked) the spirit of Hugh Hefner infused the opening of “Playboy Redux” bringing nearly two dozen contemporary artists together to reinterpret the Playboy Bunny icon for the occasion. In grand Pittsburgh style the invite boasting a “pajamas encouraged” dress code resulted in a line that stretched outside the doors of the Andy Warhol Museum and snaked its way around the block. Although greatly missed was the presence of the man, the myth, the legend (who will celebrate his 84th birthday in April), the games officially began once Playmates Laurie Fetter (Miss May 2003) and Lindsey Vuolo (Miss November 2001), made their whiplash-inducing appearances to 400 tailgaters.

The exhibit which ran March 27 through June 20 is part of Playboy Magazine’s global celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Playboy Bunny and Playboy Clubs. The Warhol was chosen because of Andy’s ties to the magazine (his work was featured several times, including on the cover).

I had originally planned for over a month to attend the Girlie Q presentation of Cirque Du So-Geigh at Mary’s Attic in Andersonville, however due to my ties with both Warhol and Playboy, I opted a few days prior to change my commitment. Something that I very early after my entering the Rotofugi Gallery had come to regret. I was not greeted by anyone, and as far as I could tell there was nobody to greet or guide any of the patrons through the exhibit. It took me a good 10 minutes to locate a program or a artists list and title sheet, which I later found on the far back ledge of the gallery’s rear entrance. Where a DJ played hip hop at a comfortable volume I should add. Warhol and Hip hop eh? I would understand it if it had anything to do with the Andy Warhol/ Jean-Michel Basquiat collaboration, but it didn’t. In fact as I later figured out on my own, it had little to do with Playboy itself, but all about bunnies which is a staple of Hipster art culture. In fact at the Rotofugi Gallery most of their toys and art seem to center around what I learned are actually their Dunny’s.

DUNNY’s

Are you confused, I certainly am. And more confused I was happened to do with the attendees who stood in front of the art chatting with one another and not moving for the near dozen or so photographers attempting to record the exhibit via camera.

Overall, the Warhol Museums good name should have never been brought into the publicity for the showing. It’s not in the museum and many of the pieces have already been sold. Prices ranged from a Frank Kozik selling for a mere $300 to Tara McPherson Oil on Linen work titled Playboy Bunny for $22,500.

And again, it was the hipster element, one that is quickly invading every nook of the Chicago scene. I noticed not only is it limited to certain events, but also as browsing Chicago Scene’s website this morning they’ve also infected the upper scale top notch night spots. What happened to our once fashion conscious city? Why have we let ourselves deteriorate when it comes to fashion art and music. When I moved here in 98 it was because this once powerful city was a mecca for the arts and fashion, not to mention a once cutting edge music scene. The radio stations are lackluster and 3rd rate, the local music scene follows trends as opposed to setting them, and the fashion which for the men at least who are not Hipsters is limited to untucked stripped shirts, blue jeans and square toed dress shoes topped off with a silly faux hawk or haircut featuring that stupid fucking flip in front. Where is what is considered eclectic? My guess if it’s true that there is power in numbers then it is safer to be part of the flock rather than to run with the wolves. I’m not even going to touch on how I feel the populace of the fairer of the sexes have become so cookie cutter. Jeeze!

In closing I’d like to say that I mean no offense whatsoever to the people that own and operate Rotofugi Gallery at their new location. I recall the smaller store over in East Village, and they’ve obviously found their niche and are enjoying success. My biggest disappointment is what I’ve seen Chicago turn into, and I priase the concept of DEVO once again this month, De-Evolution is upon us.

Another fine AZ and Morgana Moon creation!

The first words out of her mouth when I entered her abode at 530 was, “Since when did scarf shopping become a code word for anal sex?” Smiling in return I presented her with a bottle of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey and we had a glass before heading out to the streets of Andersonville. And this is where things got creative. Morgana loves to cook as much as I do and we had discussed making our own pizza the night before. We strolled a farmers market where we tasted some amazing hot pepper “infused” vinegars and our creative juices began churning simultaneously.

! THREE !

We shopped for some fresh vegetables for our pizza which included 6 cheeses, jalapenos, fresh basil, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, and artichokes and baked it as we enjoyed some whiskey and rocks. She seemed to remember to wash her hands well after slicing the hot chilies. When she pulled our baby out of the oven it looked as good as it tasted. But the real surprise was when she presented it to me on a plate with a 3-pronged fork.

After we enjoyed the pie Morgana presented the idea of infusing our own vinegars and making jars and jars of salsa. I liked the idea of both. Being that I’ve gotten very good at making salsas the concept of creating a vast amount with Morgana can only make the fine art even better. She is an amazingly creative cook in her own right.

I’ve kidnapped her pussy for a few days while she’s back home in Wisconsin till next week and I imagine we’ll get right on the making of the vinegar and salsa concoctions. Her cat has been her before when they were spraying her apartment building and I offered to let her stay at Casa Diablo and keep Rammstein company. Myself other than the Warhol/Playboy Redux exhibit at the Rotofugi Gallery I intend to take in a rather low key weekend and get some eBay auctions organized and catch a movie or two. I have the feeling I’m going to need to gather my energy for Tuesday. And least I hope I need to.

She didn’t even hesitate when I invited her to spend Aug 24, 2010 w/ me. It was to be this month’s full moon, her Wolf Moon, and I’m starting to suspect that she actually gets me.

It was still daylight when Morgana Moon arrived at the back door of Casa Diablo as she has so often recently. Yes, I have shared her name with you. Not like a good many of you haven’t figured that out by now. And when we’re together, I am very happy, and we’re a “hot mess”. Last evening was no different. And we had a plan, or two.

As I was saying, she arrived at the back door with a bag packed with several different clothing items, as scantly as they are. We had planned to sit out back, enjoy the beauty of the night’s moon, drink some wine, take some photos, and do what we do. She also brought something to enhance the night and it certainly was put to good use. Or bad, depending you your perspective.

I had taken apart my living room to create a makeshift blackground which only consisted of black draping, a zebra blanket, and a chair. Now keep in mind I am not a pro photographer by any means. But I had a vision 2 nights prior as she sat n the edge of my bed and asked her if she would mind doing some pictures, and she agreed. Miss Moon is very agreeable as I have been learning. We looked over what items she had brought and then came out to watch the beautiful moon rising and moving across the eastern sky. To further add to the experience, we could also see the fireworks over Navy Pier. All was right with the night and as she wrote earlier, the stars were aligned.

When we came in to do our first round of shots I found that I had encountered an unusual phenomenon in regards to my libido, one which I really had not experienced in this familiar setting. As many of my readers know, I have been on many photo shoots with some extremely beautiful models, some the girl next door, others the adult entertainer that is hot that moment. And I’ve been on the set of some filming of erotica as well. I have always been professional, never been the wink-wink, nudge-nudge type and never found myself aroused. That all changed last evening, on several occasions throughout the night.

We bounced in and out over the hours, taking in our lunar friend and tasting the fruits of taboo. Suffice to say, it was another “wicked night”, and one that I’ll appreciate for months to come. But that comes with her, as I appreciate her, and I feel she appreciates me. And she really gets me.

As the hours grew late and she had to rise before sunrise to head out to the burbs to do some gardening, I shared some of my more intimate desires, openly and honestly in ways I never really have felt comfortable with confessing. And she accepts that, and she gets me. And I thank her.

A few of the images I’m sharing. We shot over 200 and she’ll be working on editing them and then I intend to send those off to my brother in order for him to add his talents by enhancing color etc. So it’s going to be a little while longer before she’s an official ultraviXXXen, something she asked to do soon after we met in a rather straight forward email. And I like that about her. She’s a real straight shooter. And I thank her.

And as always, no secrets.

It’s only Wednesday and I’m already pondering who I’m taking to the Rotofugi Gallery where the Andy Warhol Museum of Pittsburgh is featuring their Playboy Redux exhibit. How could I possibly miss the merging of two of my favorite contributors to American Culture, Warhol and classic Playboy. It looks to be a great time.

AZ and John Curry August 2009

Well, after a year and half long battle with leukemia my Dad has finally been beaten. Late yesterday morning he suffered a stroke and the doctors discovered that the cancer had moved onto his brain. From there he was in a drug induced coma for about 8 hours. He took his last breath around 7:00 pm last night. I’ve not only lost my Father, but also one of the very best friends I will ever have. - Christopher Curry

I got a call last night from Julie Curry, the wife of one of my best friends, Chris Curry. The above comment is from CC’s facebook page this morning.

Mr Curry pours champagne as we discuss politics and history

I am fortunate enough to have gotten to know his father pretty well. On my visits to Indian over the last couple of years, one of my favorite parts of those visits was sitting and chatting with his father. We discussed many various topics including books, humor, film, pornography, and politics. And for years before we net face to face we talked many times on the phone.

At Chris and Julies Wedding, John Curry, AZ, Chris and Julie Curry and Phillip their son

Chris and his father were close, in fact at one point a few years back, they lived together in Virginia. Chris authored 2 books which his father served pretty much as his right hand, both A Taste Of Blood: The Films of Herschell Gordon Lewis and Film Alchemy: The Independent Cinema of Ted V. Mikels the latter which hos father wrote the forward to.

July 3, 2010

I last saw John Curry on this past July 4 weekend. I had no idea his health had deteriorated to the point of near death. However, he certainly showed no signs of it around me. He was and will be remembered by myself as being spirited, funny and highly intelligent. He will be missed.
